Next Generation Concert!

Please join JazzErie as we put on our Next Generation Concert featuring all the local young big band jazz talent!  If you have ever attended one of the past Next Generation concerts you know how exciting it is to hear the future with all the talent that is up and coming! 

The concert will feature several high school jazz bands that will be playing large variety of big band jazz music!  The night will be capped off with the Misery Bay Big Band featuring the tenor sax playing of David Kana. 

Mr. Kana is a highly sought after jazz educator and player.  He is from the Youngstown Ohio area and is know across the United States for his work with the famed Jamie Aebersold Jazz Camps  where he is currently an instructor! Here is a short bio on Mr. Kana’s accomplishments!

David graduated from Youngstown State University, and has a M.S. in Education.  He is Assistant H.S. Band Director at Campbell Memorial H.S. in Ohio; has performed as principal tenor sax with the Benny Goodman Orchestra, and is a member of numerous local groups in the Youngstown, Warren, and Cleveland areas.

 You don’t want to miss this chance to hear David Kana and the Misery Bay Big Band play very interesting treatments of classic jazz titles written by the great Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and many other greats!
