Jazz sax legend Stan Bialomizy returns for his Spring Season performance as Frank Singer's special guest this week at the Anchor In. Frank and Stan will perform Jazz and Latin standards from 6-9 pm in this no-smoking space with great food, service and company. Stan's interjections of stories, jokes and wordplay are legendary, always keeping the music and the performance fresh and spontaneous. If we're lucky, he will circulate between sets telling personalized jokes as he goes! There's no cover, so come on down and enjoy the great music and eats.

Stan BialomizyStanley F. Bialomizy, a native of Erie, PA, holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the Pennsylvania State University, and a Master's Degree from Teacher's College, Columbia University. He has been a board member of New York State School Music Association, and a past president of Nassau Music Educators Association, Long Island, New York.

He has served as a clinician, adjudicator, and guest conductor for area All-State Jazz Ensembles and All-County Bands. As a member of many honorary and professional organizations, including Phi Delta Kappa and the College Band Director's Association, he is also listed in the International "Who's Who In Music".

Stan is a published arranger and composer with Alfred Music Publishers, Cherry Lane Music Co., Belwin-Mills Music Publishers and Columbia Pictures Publications. He also served as an instrumental music editor with Boosey and Hawkes Publishing Company. He is the composer of the 2005 New York State School Music Association theme song "A World of Music for All".

After his career as Chairman of Music and Director of Bands at W. Tresper Clarke High School, East Meadow, NY, and Assistant Professor of Music, Long Island University C.W. Post Center, he returned to Erie PA as the associate conductor of the Erie Concert Band. He subsequently joined the staff of radio broadcasters at WQLN-FM as a jazz radio personality, producing and hosting the program "Jazz Club on the Air".

He maintains a busy schedule in performance on saxophone, clarinet, jazz piano and voice. Playing credits include the Temptations, Tribute to the Dorsey Brothers and Benny Goodman Orchestras, and Stan is presently performing with the New York City-based American Jazz Repertory Orchestra.
