Event DetailsJazzErie Discussion Group
Thursday, January 19, 7:30PM to 9:00PM
Location: Erie Art Museum Annex
NEXT MEETING DATE: Thursday, December 16, 2011
In 1994, at the start of JazzErie, Saxophonist and band leader Charles Ventrello, trombonist and music teacher Dennis Kitchen, and many other other jazz musicians, historians and aficionados, began meeting to share and learn about jazz. Now, 17 years later, the monthly tradition continues, as the current group of jazz enthusiasts gathers to listen to and discuss jazz styles.
Each participant comes with a CD and a cut from it they want to share and talk about with the group. Musical styles range from Dixieland to big band and contemporary jazz. It's a friendly, casual group. Whether you're looking to meet creative, knowledgeable people, learn and understand more about jazz, or share your insights, you are welcome anytime. Join us on the third Thursday of every month at 7:30PM, at the Erie Art Museum Annex, 5th Street, just east of Sate Street, Erie. You’ll be glad you did. For more information, call 866-2731.
