Allegheny Jazz Is Back
Sept. 18 - 21 at Cleveland's InterContinental Hotel
InterContinental Hotel, 9801 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH
Three Days of Jazz
The Allegheny Jazz Society"s three-day fall jazz festival, featuring music from the 30's and 40's, was for many years a fixture on the Chautauqua Institution's annual schedule. Following the death of impresario Joe Bouton, the future of the program was in doubt.
Now a new management group has emerged, and the program, with the same focus and many of the same stars, is reemerging at a new venue: the classy InterContinental Hotel in the midst of University Circle's Cleveland Clinic complex.
As in past years, the program begins with a meet & greet session on Thursday evening, Sept. 18. Then three full days of music:
Fri., Sept. 19 5:30 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. evening session
Sat., Sept. 20 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. matinee session
5;30 p.m.- 12:30 a.m. evening session
Sun., Sept. 21 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. brunch session
