Jeff Gault's Fun Notice February 9, 2012

Jeff, Sandy & Joe

Hello Fun Seekers,

Well maybe we will get some Erie February snow this weekend???   But, alas,  we have some great indoor venues to shelter you from the weather this weekend.  Read on for the details.

THURSDAY---  Try our usual recommendations.  Open Mike with Katie and Sheldon at Brewerie or The Colony Jazz Trio at the Colony Pub and Grill.

FRIDAY---  Start your weekend with some great food and fine music.  You will find JD Jazz at Matthew's Trattoria from 6 to 9.  Or you may prefer Tom Hitt in the same time slot at Pie In The Sky. ( You may want to ask Tom's son to come over to your table for some slight of hand and other magical tricks, he is good.)  But next you are going to want to hit this event, The "new" Docksider's Blues and Rock Series featuring Coloumbus, OH  bluesman Hadden Sayers.  Yes the Docksider has new ownership and has under gone a revamp of their menu and interior decor. To celebrate the new look tonight's Grand Opening will include the 1st Inaugural event in their planned Blues/Rock Evening Series.  We will be attending let me know if you are.  Other places to consider for tonight might include Eric Brewer and Friends at The Baybreeze Lounge or Endless Summer at The Last Shot.

SATURDAY---  Saturday night always has some fine choices for mixing dinner with music.  Alto Cucina is featuring Todd Morton tonight.  La Bella is bringing music back with MJT from 6 until 10.  And Latino's is offering Soft Latin Jazz from Lydia Marks and Vinny Stefanelli.  Tonight's featured event is the return of Ruby Port at the Erie Maennerchor Club.  This "retro back to the 70's" event should be lots of fun.  Also happening in the Downtown District is Shally 'N the Riffriders at Cougars and The Heliotropes at Brewerie.  If you are missing the snow, head to Peek'N Peak where anything goes with The BluesBeaters.

SUNDAY---  No day of rest for singer/songwriter Tom Hitt, he is working the Presque Isle Gallery and Coffeehouse at 1-4.  And then this evening is a unique performance by Joy Ike.  A female singer/songwriter from Pittsburgh who says "I really just like soul music" will perform at Church of the Covenant (250 W. 7th) at 7:00.

MONDAY---  Still going strong??  So is Tom Hitt, tonight he along with Jackie Clarke-Rodriguez and Keith Wilson will be featured performers in Vermont Tavern's Songwriters Showcase.

VALENTINE'S DAY---  Looking to treat your honey to some dinner and music?  Here are two choices (1 LaBella with MJT 6-10 or (2 Pie In The Sky with Tom Hitt 8:00.  I would call ahead for reservations.

WEDNESDAY---  Not much happening tonight so I might suggest calling "your" Realtor and talk some real estate.  Thanks in advance.
